Caroline Ibrahim, Psy.D. LP

Dr. Caroline Ibrahim is the owner/founder of Dulles Psychological Services. She is an Egyptian-American clinical psychologist who immigrated to the USA in 1995 with her parents and older brother.

Dr. Ibrahim received her B.S. in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Old Dominion University and her doctorate (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University. Dr. Ibrahim has trained and worked in various clinical settings, including an inpatient residential setting, an outpatient clinic setting, a college counseling center setting, and community mental health centers. Dr. Ibrahim prides herself in being a generalist with clinical interests in multicultural and minority issues (including immigration/acculturation stress); trauma; family conflict; grief and loss; interpersonal and relationship difficulties; adjustment issues; emotion regulation; self-esteem and identity issues; and developmental issues.

Dr. Ibrahim provides psychotherapy to adults, children, and families. She also conducts psychological assessments and is available for consultations. Dr. Ibrahim is licensed as a clinical psychologist by the state of Virginia. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at George Washington University and worked as a part-time psychologist at George Mason University Counseling and Psychological Services. She joined Dr. Goldberg and Associates group practice in 2013, with practice locations in Alexandria and Reston, Virginia. Dr. Ibrahim is also the owner and founder of Dulles Psychological Services, a comprehensive mental health private practice with current locations in Sterling, Virginia.

Dr. Ibrahim’s approach to psychotherapy is one that is described as relational and integrative. Her approach is informed by empirical research on attachment, cognitive-behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, and family therapy. In her words, “Psychotherapy provides a corrective and healing therapeutic relationship. It offers a safe environment for the individuals to share and process their experiences as well as develop insights into what is underlying their current challenges. Psychotherapy also provides individuals with coping strategies and skills to tackle life’s daily challenges.
