Resident in Counseling
Sobia Iqbal is a Resident in Counseling in the state of Virginia, who works with children, adolescents, and adults. She has over 4 years of clinical experience working in both community mental health and school setting where she has served clients with a broad range of concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, stress management, self-esteem, social issues, relational problems, and adjustment issues.
Sobia utilizes an integrative psychotherapy approach incorporating methods and strategies from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Sobia believes that we all have the capacity to make changes in our life and sees herself as a guide and a source of support in that process. Sobia utilizes non-judgment, empathetic, and unconditional positive regard approach to assist her clients in their personal and social journey.
Sobia received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University of Maryland Baltimore County, and her Master of Education in Mental Health Counseling from George Mason University. Sobia understands how challenging life can be and is committed to help her clients meet their goals in therapy and make positive life changes.
Sobia is also fluent in Urdu and Punjabi and she loves to travel and spend time with her family when not working.
