Dora Smith, LPC

Dora Smith is a Licensed Professional Counselor, in the state of Virginia. She is a former teacher who worked within a regular and special education environment. She received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama and her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health from the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky. Dora works with individuals, couples, and adolescents to improve relationship concerns, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, post-partum, grief, life transitions, ADHD, PTSD, and addictions.  

Dora has experience in mental health within partial hospitalization, Intensive outpatient, the prison system, family sessions, couples, children and adolescents, individuals from from age six to elderly in age, groups, and those with special needs. 

Dora utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to boost your mental resilience and improve your overall well-being. She believes everyone can overcome their struggles with support and genuine effort. She also utilizes the Person Centered approach and Motivational Interviewing as needed. Dora knows each person is unique and desires to help you improve YOUR life YOUR way.
