Licensed Professional Counselor
Dr. LaTasha Blanding is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor in the state of Virginia. She is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Maryland. She provides therapy to adolescents, transitional youth, and adults. Her specialties include substance abuse, process addictions, anxiety, depression, anger management, behavioral issues, grief and loss, self-esteem, and adjustment issues.
Dr. Blanding received her BA and MA degree from Norfolk State University and her Doctor of Education from Argosy University. Dr. Blanding has worked in various settings to include residential, ambulatory detox, community-based, psychiatric hospital, inpatient, and outpatient.
Currently, Dr. Blanding is a program manager within a hospital setting. She spearheads an intensive outpatient program to address addiction and provides clinical supervision to residents in counseling. She has over 10 years of experience working with dually diagnosed clients. Dr. Blanding is skilled in the following theoretical approaches: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Motivational Enhancement Therapy, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy.
