Alyssa is a Resident in Counseling in the state of Virginia, working toward becoming a fully Licensed Professional Counselor. She works with clients (individuals 16 and up) seeking support for life transitions, military life, healthy relationship building, self-esteem, and women’s issues, as well as those navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, grief/loss, and PTSD recovery. Her approach to counseling is eclectic, drawing primarily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while also incorporating elements of person-centered therapy, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, and a strengths-based focus.

Alyssa is dedicated to providing an empathetic, non-judgmental space where clients feel safe exploring their thoughts, emotions, and vulnerabilities. She views therapy as a journey of self-exploration, with clients at the helm and her by their side for guidance and support. Through this process, clients can develop self-awareness, inner strength, and resilience, empowering them to take meaningful action and build a life aligned with their values and goals.

Additionally, Alyssa is deeply committed to women’s empowerment and development, striving to foster a supportive environment where women can explore their potential, overcome challenges, and achieve both personal and professional growth.

She earned her M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University, where she was inducted into Chi Sigma Iota, the national counseling honor society. She also holds a B.S. in Environmental Resource Management from Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!).

Before transitioning into the mental health field, Alyssa spent nearly a decade in a Fortune 500 corporate setting. This experience gives her a unique perspective in counseling, particularly in supporting clients as they navigate career challenges, interpersonal dynamics, and the stresses of professional life. She also served in mentorship and leadership roles and especially enjoys facilitating women’s personal and professional development groups.
