Melissa Tully is a Resident in Counseling in the state of Virginia. Her approach to therapy is person-centered, solution-focused, mindfulness-based and intuitive. She believes you are the expert of your life and the captain of your ship. As such, she will work with you collaboratively, at your own pace, and provide techniques that regulate your nervous system.
Melissa has a Masters of Arts in Counseling from Virginia Tech and experience working with a diverse population of clients across the lifespan. Exposure to different perspectives makes her practice affirmative, culturally sensitive, and trauma informed. She takes great pride in her ability to create a welcoming environment where you are free to be yourself and thrive.
When it comes to treatment modalities, she has specialized training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). Her background in solution-focused, brief therapy always informs her therapeutic framework. She also integrates mindfulness practices and somatic exercises to help clients navigate challenges with greater ease.
