Hello, I’m Nashwa, a postdoctoral clinical psychologist passionate about helping individuals and families thrive.

Testing: I specialize in comprehensive neuropsychological and psychological assessments for clients ages 6 to 80. My training includes two years at leading medical institutions such as Children’s National Hospital and Inova Kellar Center, where I worked with adolescents and teens managing conditions such as traumatic brain injury, epilepsy, cancer, and concussions, as well as the psychological impact of treatments like chemotherapy and radiation.

I also have two years of experience in private practice, serving clients from diverse age groups and cultural backgrounds. My assessment approach is holistic: I take time to understand each client’s full history, look beyond presenting concerns, and provide clear, thorough feedback. My goal is to ensure clients leave with answers, resources, and a confident understanding of their next steps.

Therapy: Throughout my career, I have especially enjoyed working with preadolescents, teenagers, and families. I involve parents regularly in sessions to promote collaboration and integration at home. I take an integrative, family-systems approach to therapy, specializing in depression, anxiety, and ADHD. Faith, spirituality, and cultural context are central to my practice, allowing me to provide care that is both personalized and holistic.
I have also supported adults in their 30s–50s with relational and family challenges, often using a person-centered approach. In addition, I have a strong interest in marital counseling, helping couples strengthen their relationships and parental roles.

Group Therapy: I have facilitated group therapy for teen boys with ADHD and/or high-functioning autism, creating a safe space where they can process challenges, connect with peers, and gain confidence. I have also led parent groups, which focus on equipping caregivers with tools to navigate the ups and downs of raising children with unique needs.

Above all, my priority is for every client to feel safe, heard, understood, and empowered. My hope for them is to leave each session with clarity, practical tools, and confidence in their growth journey.
